If you followed our blog this month, you should now have a better understanding of LinkedIn, the top and most trusted online platform for career development and networking. By now, you’ve probably checked out some of the fantastic new features being offered on the site, like the Video Cover Story, and you are well on your way to developing a sound LinkedIn strategy in order to meet your professional goals.
If you want to expand your LinkedIn knowledge even more, we will be offering a webinar at 6PM on September 28th, 2021, titled 5 Ways To Use LinkedIn To Build An Engaged Network. We know that planning for something like this can be tricky without experience or proper training, so we have decided to close out the series with tips on how to create your very own LinkedIn Event. Topics include:
- The LinkedIn Events Feature
- Utilizing LinkedIn Events To Grow Your Business
- Creating Your LinkedIn Event
- Important Things To Know
The LinkedIn Events Feature
The LinkedIn Events feature provides an easy way for members to create and join professional events, both online and offline, including workshops, webinars, networking opportunities, and more. If you are an individual LinkedIn member, or the admin of a page, you can—and should—host an Event.
Utilizing LinkedIn Events To Grow Your Business
As the organizer, you not only create the Event, but you also set the itinerary, and decide which attendees to invite. You can even add speakers, when applicable. Attendees can share your Event with their own connections for greater reach, but if you make your Event private, you will need to grant them permission first. You can also withdraw an invite or remove an attendee at any time.
Creating Your LinkedIn Event
If you want to create a live Event, you’ll need to submit an application form through LinkedIn and wait for the approval first. Otherwise, click here and follow these steps provided by LinkedIn for creating and managing your Event. When you are ready to get started, the Events feature can be found on your home page, on the bottom of the left-hand side panel. Here, you can use the Create window to plan your event by filling in the designated fields.
Important Things To Know
Be sure to add a logo (400 x 400 px) and cover image (1776 x 444 px) by clicking the Edit icon in the applicable space. We recommend using Canva to adjust your logo for the profile area and cover photo size requirements. Once you click Create, you can share your event on your profile as a post, invite your contacts, and send it as a message, in addition to sharing it on other social media platforms. You will also be able to see all the Events you have created, as well as any Events you have joined.
