Sometimes one good thing leads to another. If you follow our blog, you may recall the work we completed for Phoenix Language Services, Inc. (PLSI) earlier this year in an article titled, The Rebirth of a Web Design. Recently, owner J. Nicole Martin Lawton reached out to us again to discuss another website in serious need of maintenance.

Realizing that the current site for her second company, The National Institute For Coordinated Health Care (NICHC), wasn’t reflective of how she wanted it to look and was failing to convey information about available workshops and training, this routine update turned into a complete overhaul! Read on for a story of incredible intuition with a stunning end result.

Anticipating the Needs of Our Client

After consulting with our client and reviewing the existing web design, we performed the requested maintenance. But we also had a feeling more help was needed than was initially planned. Anticipating our client’s needs, we took a chance and began the website development process in advance. And sure enough, we were right! A few months later, we were contacted again, this time with a revised request for an eye-catching, user-friendly site that would better serve the needs of The National Institute For Coordinated Health Care, a nonprofit with an ever-expanding educational/training reach. With our expert developer already on the job, we were able to finish the website in just two weeks!

Always Going Above & Beyond

In an effort to create a better user experience, we made the website easier to navigate with updated page layouts. The previous design had no images and was very text heavy, so we also added some eye-catching visual elements and streamlined the copy to boost readability. Focusing on branding, we utilized soothing Periwinkle, Sky Blue, Seafoam Green, and warm Beige to match The National Institute For Coordinated Health Care logo, set against a crisp white background to make the colors pop off the screen

Here are some more fantastic new features on the site:

  • Podcast integration with Soundcloud
  • Accordion style menus that open and close
  • Custom forms with onsite registration for event

Speaking of events, the training page includes cross-promoting of the Core Medical Interpreter Training® (CMIT®) provided for the NICHC, with course offerings co-organized with PLSI or Penn State. Visitors of either website can access a similar form to register, which helps to reach a wider audience.

The next course co-organized by the NICHC and Penn State begins October 29th, and the NICHC will begin the new year by offering an evening course co-organized with Penn State that begins January 17th.

The National Institute For Coordinated Health Care is seeing significant growth, with a recent expansion into Central America and South America. And soon, the Core Medical Interpreter Training® will be provided in Europe as well. To check out their new website, click here. We have a strong feeling that continued success is in store for this amazing nonprofit!
