Knowing that she had a great product to offer the public, Zana wanted to use social media to increase her online presence and boost sales by reaching a wider target audience — but she did not know where to start.

Without any social media strategy, Zana turned to Aliya Hammond Consulting (AHC) for help in gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve her goal. In order to promote her professional brand on social media, Zana asked us to develop a sweet new website to showcase and sell her delectable desserts. This web design features an eye-catching, branded look and easy to navigate interface. From there, Zana began gathering the other ingredients of a social media strategy that would tempt her target audience. Her first step was to highlight Zana Cakes in her LinkedIn profile, and on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, using enticing images and content to increase engagement and sales. After recently holding a fundraiser on social media in June, she notes that she received orders from people she had not spoken with in years. In fact, she satisfied a whopping order of 33 pound cakes, with proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association!

Just Desserts

Since working with Aliya, Zana has noticed a profound increase in likes and followers, and she plans to keep the momentum going. Zana admits that, before training, she found social media intimidating. However, she is now more confident and savvy with her posts. Overcoming her initial hesitation, Zana is currently posting regularly, and she has crafted a strategy that she can maintain while baking and running a business. She says that the most valuable lesson learned is to be realistic with her time. “If my schedule only allows me to post 3 times a week and blog 2 times a month, then I commit to that.”
