While the company itself was founded in 1993, the accompanying website was not created until the spring of 2019. Left untouched since then, it was in need of a fresh update. Logo Redevelopment: Rising Up From A Rich Legacy
Our tale begins with a logo that was decades old and lacking color. First developed in the early 90’s, the original black and white design did not exactly suit a company named after such a bright and majestic creature. At the start of 2020, color was finally added to the existing art, but in 2012, an attempt to update the logo failed to get off the ground.
Now let’s jump in time to 2021. In redeveloping a logo for PSLI, we were tasked with maintaining elements of the original art created by the founder of the company, William R. Martin. As the father of the current President and CEO, J. Nicole Martin Lawton, Esq., MPH, this logo was not only a natural and recognizable part of the company’s identity but also a treasured part of her family legacy.
Keeping with the theme of a Phoenix rising from the ashes in a burst of fire, we made the bird resemble a flame by adjusting the color scheme to include warm and vibrant tones of red, orange, and yellow. This phoenix is also in full flight to symbolize the successful mission of the company in providing comprehensive language access services for their limited-English proficient and deaf and hard of hearing clients across a wide variety of industries.
Website Development: New, Easier-To-Navigate Features Take Flight
Our tale continues with the development of a professional new web design. For J. Nicole Martin Lawton, envisioning this goal was simple and include three distinct wishes:
- A user-friendly website that would be easier for clients and interpreters to navigate
- A means to share the updated services being offered by PLSI and to allow access to information based on the needs of her clients
- A way to contact the company with ease
As usual, not only did we deliver with this website development project, but we also exceeded expectations. Our first step was to go darker on the background in order to let the revamped logo really pop. We then added some fantastic features to bring the site up-to-date, like number counters, social media graphics, integrated links, and a more responsive, scrolling tablet design. We also cleaned up the text and added an updated Team page, testimonials, and a user-friendly contact form.
